Biography

studied English, American and German Literature at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz (1992-99) and at University College Galway, Ireland (1994-95). In 2004 she received her Ph.D. (summa cum laude) with a thesis on Emerging Identities: Myth, Nation and Gender in the Poetry of Eavan Boland, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill and Medbh McGuckian (Trier: WVT, 2004). She has been a lecturer in English literature at the University of Mainz since October 2001 and has also taught classes at the Waterford Institute for Technology (Ireland) and the University Koblenz-Landau (Campus Koblenz). She has published numerous articles on contemporary Irish and British poetry, fiction and drama.
